Bermudian golfer Oliver Betschart has made an encouraging start to his collegiate career in the United States, placing 12th in a 45-player field at the Les Fowler Colorado Invitational.

The tournament, held on September 28 and 29, marked Betschart's first competitive appearance representing Colorado State University. Finishing inside the top 15 against a sizeable field of collegiate competitors represents a strong opening statement for the young Bermudian as he adjusts to the demands of university-level golf in the American college system.

Betschart has been one of Bermuda's most promising golfing talents in recent years, and his move to Colorado State was seen as an important step in his development. Competing regularly against high-calibre opposition in the collegiate ranks is expected to sharpen his game ahead of potential future international representation for the island.

Local golf followers will be watching his progress closely through the remainder of the Colorado State season, with hopes that this debut performance is a sign of further strong results to come.
