Blayz Borgesson, the 23‑year‑old Bermudian midfielder, has attracted positive attention from his club, Burnley, following a string of strong performances for the national team.

After moving to Burnley’s Academy in July, following a stint with National League North side Radcliffe, Borgesson was called up to represent Bermuda in the CONCACAF Nations League. He featured prominently in the team’s recent matches against Barbados, Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe as part of Group B, League B.

Club officials noted that Borgesson’s displays on the international stage showcased his versatility, work‑rate and composure—qualities that align with Burnley’s style of play. The club’s technical team highlighted his ability to link defence and attack, and his tactical awareness in tight spaces.

Borgesson, who grew up in Hamilton and began his career with local club Devonshire Cougars, said he was proud to wear the national jersey and hopes the experience will help him develop further in England. He added that playing in front of a wider audience and facing different playing styles has broadened his understanding of the game.

The Bermudian Observer will continue to follow Borgesson’s progress at Burnley and his future contributions to the national side, celebrating the achievements of Bermuda’s football talent on the international stage.
