Mount Saint Agnes Academy’s girls’ team showcased a commanding performance in the final of the Primary School Seven‑a‑Side tournament, edging out Purvis Primary 4-0 to clinch the title. The win, achieved on Saturday evening at the Hamilton Recreation Ground, marked the sixth consecutive championship for MSA in the competition.

Inara Todd’s late header sealed the match, but the bulk of the triumph came from a hat‑trick by Mirabella Sebastiao, who added a fourth goal in the closing minutes. Sebastiao’s standout display followed a similar contribution in the semifinal, where she scored the sole goal in MSA’s 1‑0 win over Warwick Academy, a victory that had sent the team onto the path to the final.

MSA’s coach, Mr. Derek Carrington, praised the squad’s discipline and teamwork, noting that the players had executed the game plan with precision and creativity. “It’s a testament to the hard work our girls put in during the week,” he said. “They stayed focused, defended solidly, and finished well.”

Purvis Primary’s coach, Ms. Lorna Hughes, commended the effort of her side despite the loss. “We fought until the final whistle,” she said, adding that the experience would be invaluable for the players as they move forward in the season.

The tournament, organised by the Bermuda Schools Association, attracted teams from across the island and featured a mix of seasoned and emerging talent. MSA’s victory reinforces the school’s reputation for nurturing strong female athletes in a sport that has seen growing interest among Bermudian youth.

The final was attended by parents, school officials and local sports enthusiasts, reflecting the community’s support for grassroots football.
