Bermuda’s men’s cricket squad secured a hard‑fought victory in the North American Cricket Cup held in the United States, earning the island’s first title in the competition. The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) released a statement praising the players’ resilience and teamwork over the course of the tournament.
The final took place at the Red Bank Cricket Club in New Jersey, where the Bermuda side defeated the United States with a score of 139 to 115. BCB officials highlighted the squad’s strategic approach, noting that the team’s disciplined bowling and disciplined batting were key to overcoming the host nation’s strong lineup.
BCB Chairperson Dr. Elizabeth Green expressed her gratitude to the coaching staff, support personnel and supporters who travelled to the United States. "This triumph showcases the talent nurtured in Bermuda and underscores the importance of investing in grassroots programs," Green said. She also announced plans to hold a celebratory reception for the players in Hamilton.
The win places Bermuda at the top of the regional standings and strengthens the island’s reputation as a competitive cricketing nation. The BCB will now focus on expanding the sport’s reach in schools while preparing for upcoming international fixtures on home soil.
