Christian Ebbin, a seasoned Bermudian sailor, teamed with University of Tulane crew members to compete in the first day of the Danmark Trophy in New London, Connecticut. The duo finished fifth in the overall standings, a strong showing for a team from the Atlantic archipelago.
Sailing under the B Division, Ebbin and crew member Sabrina Anderson accumulated 44 points after four races. Their performance varied across the series, with a fourth‑place finish in the opening race, followed by 18th, ninth and 13th places in the subsequent events.
Tulane’s A Division also delivered solid results, securing a top‑ten finish in the overall ranking. The university’s sailors, many of whom train in the Caribbean, demonstrated the depth of talent in American collegiate sailing.
For Bermuda’s sailing community, Ebbin’s participation highlights the growing connection between island sailors and U.S. collegiate programs. The experience gained in international regattas is expected to benefit Bermuda’s competitive teams in future world championships.
BermudaObserver will continue to track the sailors’ progress as the Danmark Trophy series unfolds, providing updates for local readers keen to follow the island’s maritime representatives on the global stage.
