Aon, the global insurance and risk‑management firm headquartered in Hamilton, has announced a new partnership with Bermuda College aimed at enhancing the island’s professional development and educational opportunities.
Under the agreement, Aon will fund a scholarship fund for students pursuing degrees in finance, actuarial science and risk management, and will collaborate with the college’s curriculum team to integrate real‑world case studies and industry‑specific modules into the program. The firm will also offer a summer internship programme for college graduates, providing hands‑on experience in underwriting, risk assessment and data analytics.
“Investing in the next generation of Bermudian talent is essential to our long‑term strategy here,” said Aon’s regional director, Maria Thompson. “By supporting Bermuda College we can help students gain the skills that are in high demand both locally and internationally.”
College Vice‑President, Dr. James Edwards, welcomed the partnership and highlighted its potential to strengthen the island’s workforce. “This collaboration will give our students a competitive edge and ensure that Bermuda remains a hub for skilled professionals in the insurance and risk sectors,” he noted.
The initiative aligns with Aon’s broader commitment to community engagement and workforce development across Bermuda, reinforcing the island’s reputation for a highly educated, adaptable workforce.
