On Wednesday, September 30, Bermuda College welcomed a gathering of more than 40 residents eager to explore new career pathways. The event, part of the Department of Workforce Development’s (DWD) Upskill Drive initiative, provided attendees with direct access to local businesses, apprenticeship programs, and a selection of courses offered by the college.
Organizers emphasized the value of connecting talent with industry demand. Representatives from regional firms presented on available apprenticeships, while DWD staff guided participants through the enrollment process for courses ranging from hospitality management to digital marketing. The partnership aims to equip Bermudians with skills that align with the island’s evolving economic needs.
A DWD spokesperson noted that the launch event was a “significant step toward strengthening our workforce’s skill set.” The department plans to expand similar outreach sessions throughout the year, encouraging more residents to take advantage of upskilling opportunities and contribute to Bermuda’s competitive edge.
