On 8 October 2026 the Bermuda Government announced, via notice GN0873/2026, that a new acting director will take charge of the Office of Project Management and Procurement (OPMP). The appointment follows the recent resignation of the previous director and is intended to ensure continuity of the office’s oversight of public procurement, contract management and infrastructure projects across the island.

The OPMP, a key public authority, is responsible for developing procurement policies, monitoring compliance with procurement laws and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. With the new acting director in place, the government aims to maintain momentum on several high‑profile initiatives, including the redevelopment of the Hamilton waterfront and upgrades to the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences.

While the notice also listed a number of companies struck off the register, the focus of the announcement remains the OPMP leadership change. The acting director will serve until a permanent appointment is made and will be tasked with reviewing current procurement contracts, enhancing transparency measures and supporting local contractors.

The appointment is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen public sector accountability and streamline project delivery, a priority for both the public and private sectors on the island.
