The 2024 Bermuda Gold Cup has reached the quarter‑final stage, with six teams confirmed to race in the coming weekend at the Bermuda Turf Club. The quarter‑finals will take place on Saturday, 28 June, and Sunday, 29 June, at the club’s renowned quarter mile track.

Representing the island’s top riding clubs, the teams are the Islington Aces, St. George’s Stallions, Hamilton Hawks, Black Rock Raptors, St. David’s Dragons and Sandys Bay Sharks. Each squad will enter three horses in the 1,200‑meter sprint, with jockeys expected to showcase the skill and precision that Bermuda racing has become known for.

"The Gold Cup is a highlight of our sporting calendar, and the quarter‑finals always draw a large crowd," said John Whitaker, director of the Bermuda Turf Club. "We’re thrilled to see such strong competition from our homegrown talent, and we hope to maintain the high standards that have made this event a Caribbean staple for decades."

The competition not only offers a chance for local horses to prove themselves against international challengers that occasionally join the field but also provides an economic boost for the island’s hospitality sector. Betting revenue from the event is expected to exceed $3 million, supporting local charities and community initiatives.

Spectators can join the festivities at the Turf Club’s hospitality suites, where food, drink and live commentary will create a festive atmosphere for the weekend’s races.
