BDA Community Pharmacy in Hamilton is offering a complimentary 15‑minute blood‑pressure screening on 23 October as part of its Pharmacy Week celebrations. The initiative is aimed at encouraging residents to monitor their heart health and to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of hypertension.

The free check‑ups will take place in the pharmacy’s front‑door waiting area, with trained staff available to take readings and discuss results with patients. Pharmacist Dr. Aisha Thompson said the event reflects the pharmacy’s commitment to community health: "We want to make it easy for people to check their blood pressure and to remind them that a healthy heart is the foundation of a long, active life."

The pharmacy has already seen a surge in appointments for routine medication reviews and counselling on lifestyle changes. Local health officials hope the screening will spark a broader conversation about heart‑healthy habits, including diet, exercise and stress management.

Residents of Bermuda can make an appointment by calling BDA Community Pharmacy or visiting the pharmacy’s website. The event is free of charge, and no pre‑registration is required.

"It’s a small investment of time for a big investment in wellness," Thompson added. "We’re excited to offer this service to the Hamilton community and beyond during Pharmacy Week."
