Bermuda's martial arts community is celebrating a strong showing on the international stage after local athletes captured multiple medals at the Pan American Kung Fu Championships and Pan American Wushu Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Leading the medal haul was the partnership of Kaelin Cox and Garon Wilkinson, who claimed gold in the Two-Person Fighting Set, a synchronized division that demands precision timing and technical skill from both competitors. Cox added to his tally with a silver medal in the Group D (18-39) Spear division, demonstrating proficiency with one of the discipline's most demanding traditional weapons. Jashae Allen-LaMontagne also reached the top of the podium, earning gold in the Group D (18-39) division.

The results mark another successful international outing for Bermudian competitors in Chinese martial arts, a sport that has steadily grown in popularity on the island over the past two decades. Local practitioners have regularly represented Bermuda at regional and world-level events, often punching above their weight against athletes from much larger nations across the Americas.

The Pan American championships draw top kung fu and wushu athletes from countries throughout North, Central and South America, making the island's medal count a notable achievement. The team's performance in Argentina is expected to provide momentum as Bermuda's martial artists prepare for future international competitions.
