Bermuda's Jaaziah Astwood found the back of the net for the first time this season as Combine Academy cruised to a commanding 9-0 victory over the UNCC Futures club side in Lincolnton, North Carolina.

The under-15 standout struck in the 63rd minute for the Academy GOATS team and also chipped in with an assist during the one-sided contest. Astwood is currently in his second year with the North Carolina-based programme, which has become a pathway for promising young footballers seeking development opportunities overseas.

The teenager's performance adds to a growing list of Bermudian youngsters making their mark in American academy football, as the island continues to produce talent capable of competing at higher levels abroad. His goal and assist in the dominant win will be seen as encouraging signs of his continued progress in the competitive environment.

Supporters back home will be watching Astwood's development closely, with hopes that academy experience in the United States can help strengthen the pipeline of players available for Bermuda's youth national teams in the years ahead.
