A Bermuda-born motorcycle racing supporter based in England has once again put the island on the map at one of Britain's best-known circuits, creating a dedicated fan zone at Donington Park in Leicestershire.
LaVince Ellis set up his now-familiar display at the track's Schwantz Curve last weekend, rebranding the section as the "Bermuda Triangle Corner" in honour of the island's young riders competing abroad. His tent served as a rallying point for supporters of Bermudian racers Aeziah Divine and Jediah Cumbermack, both of whom have been gaining experience on the UK racing scene.
The gesture highlights the growing presence of Bermudian talent in international motorcycle racing, a sport in which the island has produced a small but determined group of competitors despite its limited home facilities. Riders from Bermuda frequently travel overseas to compete, relying on the backing of family, friends and expatriate fans like Ellis to maintain a visible island presence at foreign venues.
For the island's motorsport community, such displays of support carry added significance. With no full-size racing circuit in Bermuda, local riders must base themselves abroad to pursue the sport at a competitive level, making the encouragement of fellow Bermudians overseas all the more valuable. Ellis's corner at Donington Park has become a colourful reminder that, even thousands of miles from home, Bermuda's racing fraternity remains close-knit and proud of its representatives on the track.
