The Bermuda Power Boat Association (BPBA) capped off its 2023 racing season with a spirited End‑of‑Season Race Day at the Spanish Point Boat Club, drawing a lively crowd of local enthusiasts and media. Four competitive classes—Formula, Class A, Class B and the Junior series—competed over a single day of high‑speed action, showcasing the skill of both seasoned and emerging Bermudian watercraft pilots.
In a heartening moment, the BPBA committee, alongside drivers and co‑pilots, presented a cheque to St John Ambulance, reinforcing the association’s longstanding partnership with the charity. The donation, pledged during the races, reflects the BPBA’s commitment to supporting the island’s emergency medical services and highlights the strong community spirit that fuels Bermuda’s water sports culture.
The event, which drew spectators from across the island, also offered a platform for local sponsors and vendors to engage with the public, further strengthening the ties between sport, business and community welfare. As the boats steamed away from the harbour, participants celebrated a season of thrilling competition and a tangible contribution to the island’s well‑being.
The BPBA will review next season’s format early next year, with organisers hopeful that the blend of sport and charity will remain a hallmark of future events.
