At the National Sports Centre in Devonshire, the 2026 Bermuda School Sports Federation 50‑metre Swimming Championships showcased local talent and fierce school rivalries. Warwick Academy secured the middle and senior division titles, while Saltus Grammar School took home the primary division crown.
In the primary competition, Saltus amassed a commanding 327 points, narrowly edging out Warwick Academy’s 297. The senior and middle divisions saw Warwick’s swimmers outpace their competitors, earning the top spots in a field that included several of the island’s best up‑and‑coming athletes.
School officials praised the dedication of the student‑athletes and coaching staff. Warwick’s head coach, Marlene Turner, noted the importance of teamwork and discipline, while Saltus’ principal, Dr. Mark James, highlighted the role of community support in fostering such success. The event, held at the National Sports Centre, once again underscored Bermuda’s commitment to nurturing sporting excellence among its youth, with an eye toward future international competitions.
The Championships, part of the annual BSSF calendar, attracted parents, teachers and local business sponsors, reinforcing the strong links between Bermuda’s schools, sporting bodies and the wider community.
