The Ministry of Public Works and Environment (MPWE) has issued a notice that a lane on North Shore Road near Mission Lane in Pembroke will be closed for emergency work. The closure will run from Tuesday, 6 October 2026, through Thursday, 8 October 2026, with operations scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day.

The work is needed to replace a section of the BELCO power line that runs along the road. A spokesperson for the Ministry said the temporary lane shut‑down is essential to safely complete the repairs and to minimise disruption to the power supply network.

Drivers will be directed onto alternate routes, including the Bight Road corridor and the A1 route to Hamilton. Residents in the surrounding area are advised to plan for longer travel times and to check for any changes to the timetable as the work progresses.

The MPWE has committed to keeping the public informed and will post updated information on the government website and local media outlets. The Ministry thanked the community for its patience and cooperation during the brief but necessary maintenance activity.
