On Sunday, 4 October, the historic St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Warwick hosted a rededication ceremony to mark four centuries since the church’s founding. The event gathered clergy, parishioners and community members for a solemn service that reflected on the building’s enduring spiritual and social role.
The ceremony drew several high‑profile guests, including Governor Andrew Murdoch, Premier David Burt, and other dignitaries, who joined the congregation in prayers and remarks. Local clergy spoke about the church’s past, present and future, while parishioners shared memories of worship and community outreach that have taken place within the walls of the 400‑year‑old structure.
In addition to the religious service, the day featured a heritage walk that highlighted architectural features and the restoration work that has preserved the church for future generations. Church officials announced plans to expand community programs and to continue maintaining the historic site as a living landmark in Bermuda’s cultural landscape.
