Aon, Bermuda’s leading insurance brokerage, has pledged a substantial donation to support the island’s school breakfast programme for the upcoming academic year. The contribution will provide nutritious morning meals to students across 12 public schools, ensuring that children start their day with the energy they need to learn.

The donation, announced during a community luncheon in Hamilton, is part of Aon’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and educational excellence. “Healthy children are bright children,” said Aon’s Managing Director, Sarah Thompson, during the event. “We are proud to partner with the Education Department to invest in our future generation.”

Local school principals welcomed the support. Mrs. Elaine McLeod of St. George’s School noted that the breakfast programme has already boosted attendance and concentration. "When students arrive well‑fed, they are more engaged and ready to participate," she said.

The initiative, funded by Aon’s donation, will cover the cost of breakfast for approximately 3,400 students over the next school year. The meals, prepared by the school canteens and delivered daily, include items such as eggs, fruit, and whole‑grain bread – staples that align with the Department of Health’s nutrition guidelines.

Community leaders and parents alike expressed gratitude for the partnership, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts to address childhood nutrition on the island. Aon's contribution is expected to inspire other local businesses to support similar programs, creating a lasting impact on student health and academic performance.
