On Saturday, the National Museum of Bermuda hosted a formal graduation for nine local graduates of Endeavour’s Maritime Career Springboard Programme. The event, scheduled on World Maritime Day, highlighted the island’s growing talent pipeline in seafaring and logistics.
The ceremony, which drew family, friends and industry representatives, featured speeches from Endeavour staff and museum curators. They underscored the programme’s role in equipping young Bermudians with the technical skills and safety knowledge required for careers on the high seas. Participants completed a full year of training that covered ship operations, marine engineering fundamentals and maritime law.
The graduates, all under 30, were presented with certificates and a commemorative plaque. While the event marked the end of their coursework, it also signalled the start of a new chapter as they prepare to join Bermuda’s shipping and offshore support sectors. Organisers noted that the programme’s success reflects the island’s commitment to sustaining a skilled workforce that can meet the demands of the global maritime industry.
The National Museum’s role as the venue reinforced the cultural importance of maritime heritage in Bermuda, reminding attendees that the sea continues to shape the community’s identity and economic future.
