Staff members at the Department of Workforce Development have been celebrated for their commitment to strengthening their professional skills, with a special ceremony held to mark the completion of several training programmes by the department's Career Development and Training teams.

The recognition event highlighted employees who successfully finished internationally recognised qualifications earlier this year. Among these was the Global Career Development Facilitator programme, which equips participants with the expertise to guide job seekers and workers through career planning and employment transitions. Staff also earned the Level 3 IVQ Certificate in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning, a credential that enhances their ability to deliver quality instruction to Bermudians seeking new skills.

A Government spokesperson said the achievements reflect the department's ongoing investment in its own people, ensuring that those tasked with preparing Bermuda's workforce are themselves equipped with current, globally benchmarked expertise. The training is expected to translate directly into improved services for residents pursuing employment, career changes or further education.

The ceremony underscored the department's broader mandate to build a resilient local workforce, with officials noting that well-trained career development professionals are essential to connecting Bermudians with opportunities in an evolving economy. Further professional development initiatives are anticipated as the department continues to expand its training capacity.
