Bermuda’s senior men’s national cricket team has returned to the island as champions after capturing the 2026 North American Cricket Cup in the Cayman Islands, drawing praise from the sport’s governing body at home.

The Bermuda Cricket Board, along with its member clubs across the island, offered warm congratulations to the squad following the tournament victory, describing the result as a proud moment for Bermudian cricket. The BCB said the achievement reflected the hard work of the players, coaches and support staff, as well as the dedication of the local clubs that continue to develop talent on the island.

The North American Cricket Cup brings together leading sides from the region, and Bermuda’s success in the Cayman Islands marks one of the national programme’s most notable results in recent years. Officials said the win demonstrates that the island can compete strongly on the international stage and provides encouragement for young cricketers coming through the domestic ranks.

Cricket has deep roots in Bermuda, with the annual Cup Match classic between Somerset and St George’s remaining one of the island’s most cherished sporting traditions. The BCB noted that the national team’s triumph adds another proud chapter to that heritage and said it hopes the victory will inspire greater participation in the sport at the grassroots level.

The board thanked supporters who followed the team’s campaign from home and said the players’ performances had done the island proud.
