The Bermuda Police Rugby Football Club (BPRFC) has announced its leadership lineup for the 2027 season, naming Frans Smit as captain of the men’s squad and Alice Craig as skipper of the ladies’ team.
Smit, a seasoned inside‑centre, will steer the men’s side alongside vice‑captains Jason Chlup and Simon Thompson. The women’s side will be guided by Craig, with support from vice‑captains Hannah Veitch and Anna … The club’s spokesperson highlighted the experience and commitment of both captains, noting that they will play pivotal roles in mentoring younger players and upholding the club’s proud tradition of community engagement.
BPRFC, a staple of Hamilton’s sporting scene, will compete in the island’s premier rugby competition, the Bermuda Rugby Conference. The appointment of Smit and Craig follows a strong season by the club, which finished in the upper tier of the standings last year.
The new captains have expressed enthusiasm about leading their teams into a challenging campaign. "We’re excited to build on what we achieved," said Smit, while Craig added, "Our focus is on teamwork, discipline and fostering the next generation of Bermudian rugby talent."
With the 2027 season set to begin in late February, BPRFC’s leadership changes signal a fresh push for both competitive success and community outreach across Bermuda’s rugby landscape.
