Christian Ebbin, a local sailor from Hamilton, teamed with fellow Bermudian Sabrina Anderson to compete in the opening day of the Danmark Trophy in New London, Connecticut. The pair finished fifth overall in the tournament and placed 12th in the B Division, earning 44 points over four races.

The B Division race results saw Ebbin and Anderson finish fourth, 18th, ninth and 13th in the four heats. The cumulative score of 44 points positioned them ahead of many international entries, highlighting the strength of Bermuda’s emerging sailing talent.

Ebbin is a member of the Tulane University sailing squad, and his performance was part of a broader effort by the university’s A and B Division crews to establish a strong presence in the competition. The event, which draws teams from across the United States and Canada, offers a platform for young sailors to test their skills against seasoned competitors.

The success of Ebbin and Anderson has drawn praise from the Bermuda Sailing Association, which sees the result as a positive indicator for the island’s future in international regattas.

With the Danmark Trophy continuing through the week, the Bermuda community is keeping a close eye on how the team will progress in the remaining races.
