Ann Selley, a beloved resident of Warwick and long‑time volunteer with the local library and marine conservation initiatives, died on 14 September 2026 after a brief illness. The 82‑year‑old, whose life was dedicated to public service, left a lasting legacy in the community.
Selley had served as a volunteer tutor for the Warwick Youth Literacy Program for over two decades, helping generations of students reach their academic goals. She also played a key role in organising the annual Warwick Regatta, ensuring the event remained a treasured family tradition for the island. In her later years, Selley worked closely with the Bermuda Marine Conservation Society, contributing to beach clean‑up campaigns and educational outreach aimed at protecting the island’s fragile marine ecosystems.
She is survived by her two children, a son in San Juan and a daughter in Southampton, and five grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at the Warwick Community Hall on 22 September, followed by burial at Warwick Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the community for their support and for the many stories of kindness that have been shared over the years.
The obituary was originally published in The Royal Gazette’s Legacy section and has been adapted for the BermudaObserver.
