Port Royal, the historic waterfront precinct in Hamilton, is once again coming to life as the island prepares for its annual Bermuda Day celebrations. A series of photos and video footage released by the Port Royal Office show crews repainting the iconic wooden facades, installing temporary stages, and setting up the parade route that will wind through the historic fort and along the marina.
The footage captures workers trimming the ornamental roof rails, a volunteer team clearing the cobblestone streets, and a local artist arranging a display of traditional Bermudian flags. Security teams are also in place to ensure the safety of visitors during the day‑long festivities, which will feature live music, a street‑food market, and a fireworks finale.
Port Royal Manager Angela Price praised the community’s cooperation, saying, “The spirit of teamwork here is what makes Bermuda Day special. We’re proud to showcase the heritage of Port Royal while welcoming residents and visitors alike.” The event, scheduled for Saturday, 24 June, promises to draw crowds from across the island and beyond, adding another vibrant chapter to Port Royal’s long history as a cultural hub.
