During the Taste of Bermuda Weekend, the City of Hamilton partnered with Bacardí to host the "Art of the Pour: Havana Nights" event, a cocktail competition that highlighted the island’s vibrant mixology scene. The event, held at the historic Hamilton Waterfront, brought together ten of Bermuda’s top bars, restaurants and hotels, each presenting a Bacardí‑inspired drink crafted by their own bartender teams.
Over the course of the evening, 12 teams competed against one another, showcasing creativity, technique and presentation. Judges from the local hospitality industry evaluated each cocktail on flavour profile, originality and visual appeal. The winning team, representing the elegant Seaview Bistro, earned a trophy and a feature in the BermudaObserver’s upcoming cocktail guide.
The event was part of a broader festival celebrating Bermudian culture and cuisine, and organisers noted that it provided an excellent platform for local talent to gain recognition while promoting the island as a culinary destination. Audience members were encouraged to sample each creation, fostering a sense of community and shared enthusiasm for the island’s burgeoning craft cocktail movement.
"Art of the Pour" has become a staple of the Taste of Bermuda Weekend and is expected to return next year with even more innovative participants, continuing to showcase Bermuda’s growing reputation as a hub for hospitality excellence.
