A 43‑player Trinidad & Tobago cricket squad landed in Hamilton this week to prepare for a three‑match series against Bermuda’s national side. The team, which includes seasoned internationals and promising young talent, will be based at the Hamilton Cricket Ground for the duration of the tour.

Bermuda officials welcomed the visitors and highlighted the opportunity for local fans to see high‑level West Indian cricket up close. The series is scheduled to begin on Saturday, with the first match played at the Bermuda Cricket Club’s main pavilion, followed by a second match at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s lawn and a final showdown on the island’s historic Sir George Thomas Field.

Local cricket coach and former Bermudian representative, David B. Smith, expressed enthusiasm about the exposure the island will receive. "Playing against a full‑strength T&T side is a fantastic chance for our players to test themselves against some of the best talent in the region," he said. The series is expected to draw crowds from across the island and could boost local hospitality businesses.

Bermuda’s Cricket Association is coordinating logistics, security and media coverage for the tour. The visit is part of a broader initiative to strengthen Caribbean cricket ties and promote Bermuda as a competitive venue for international fixtures.

Government representatives will attend the opening match, underscoring the importance of sports diplomacy and the potential economic benefits from increased tourism and media attention during the series.
