Constellation Re has announced the successful completion of its inaugural reinsurance transaction in Bermuda, a milestone that further solidifies the island’s position as a leading global reinsurance hub.

The deal, executed through Constellation Re Bermuda, Ltd. (CRBL), a Bermuda‑licensed reinsurer, covers term and universal life insurance as well as disability income products. By transferring these risks within its own corporate structure, Constellation Re is broadening its reinsurance capacity and streamlining its underwriting process.

Bermuda’s robust regulatory framework and well‑established capital markets have long attracted international reinsurance firms. This first transaction by Constellation Re’s Bermuda entity underscores the growing confidence of multinational insurers in the local market, and signals potential for additional domestic transactions.

Industry analysts note that the move could encourage more cross‑border reinsurance arrangements within Bermuda, reinforcing the island’s reputation for financial innovation and strong risk‑management practices.

"This transaction demonstrates our commitment to expanding our Bermuda‑based operations and leveraging the island’s regulatory strengths," a Constellation Re spokesperson said.

The completion of this deal positions Constellation Re to better serve clients worldwide while contributing to Bermuda’s continued economic diversification.
