Mirrors, the Bermuda-based charity dedicated to empowering young people, has celebrated the winners of its tenth annual art competition, recognising the creative talents of students from across the island.

The competition invited young artists to submit original works reflecting themes of self-expression, community and personal growth — values at the heart of the Mirrors programme. Entries were judged on creativity, technique and interpretation of the theme, with prizes awarded across several age categories.

Organisers said reaching the ten-year milestone was a testament to the enduring enthusiasm of Bermuda's youth for the arts, as well as the support of local schools, families and sponsors who have helped the competition grow since its inception. Winners were presented with their awards at a ceremony attended by participants, parents and community supporters.

Mirrors, founded in 2007, works with young Bermudians through coaching, mentoring and community programmes designed to build confidence and life skills. The annual art competition has become one of its flagship events, offering students a platform to showcase their abilities while encouraging positive self-expression.

Charity representatives noted that plans are already under way for next year's competition, and encouraged schools and young artists island-wide to take part as the event enters its second decade.
