Bermuda’s Cox has claimed a gold medal at the Pan American Kung Fu Championships, delivering one of the island’s strongest recent performances in international martial arts competition.

Representing Bermuda against athletes from across the Americas, Cox advanced through the championship field to secure first place. The result adds an important international honour to Bermuda’s sporting record and highlights the continued development of kung fu on the island.

The achievement is also expected to provide encouragement for younger martial artists training locally. Success at a continental championship demonstrates that Bermudian competitors can contend for top honours beyond the island, despite the challenges of limited resources and a smaller pool of athletes.

Cox’s gold-medal performance gives the local kung fu community a notable milestone and offers Bermuda another reason to celebrate on the regional sporting stage.
