Bermudian Anthasia Campbell represented the island on an international stage this weekend, taking part in the Miss England semi-final held at Melton Theatre in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, on Saturday, October 11.

Campbell came close to securing a place in the national final, finishing runner-up in the People's Choice vote. The public voting element offered one contestant automatic advancement to the final, with the top vote-getter earning direct entry. Despite her strong showing, Campbell narrowly missed out on the coveted spot.

Reflecting on the experience, Campbell said she had a great time competing in the event, which brought together hopefuls from across the United Kingdom. Her participation marks another occasion on which a Bermudian has flown the island's flag in an overseas pageant, drawing attention from supporters back home.

Pageant competitions have long provided a platform for young Bermudians to gain international exposure, build confidence and champion charitable causes. Campbell's performance in the semi-final, and her near-miss in the public vote, highlights the competitive nature of the Miss England contest, which serves as a pathway to the Miss World competition. While she will not advance to the national final this year, her showing in Leicestershire earned her recognition among a large field of contestants.
