The 30th Annual Allshores Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, held on Wednesday evening, brought together residents of Hamilton and surrounding communities to support the fight against breast cancer. Participants, ranging from local families to corporate groups, marched along the scenic promenade in a display of solidarity, carrying pink ribbons and banners that highlighted the importance of early detection and community support.

The event, organised by the Bermuda Cancer and Health Center in partnership with the Allshores Walk Committee, attracted more than 1,200 walkers and supporters. Attendees received educational brochures, free mammogram appointments, and were encouraged to register for the upcoming physical activity and nutrition workshops aimed at reducing risk factors for breast cancer.

Dr. Samantha Brown, director of the Bermuda Cancer and Health Center, noted that the walk marks a milestone: "For three decades, Bermudians have come together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and patient support. This event reinforces our commitment to prevention, early detection, and community education." The centre also announced a new scholarship fund for students pursuing careers in oncology and cancer research.

Allshores Walk organisers hope the 2026 edition will surpass last year’s turnout and continue to provide a platform for community engagement. The walk remains a flagship event in Bermuda’s public health calendar, drawing attention to the ongoing need for funding, research, and early detection initiatives in the island nation.
