In a bid to strengthen community engagement, the local nonprofit Progressive Minds will stage a youth forum on Thursday, 15 November, at the Hamilton Community Hall. The event, open to Bermudian residents aged 16‑24, aims to give young people a platform to discuss issues that affect them—from mental health and education to the future of the island’s workforce.
Progressive Minds, founded in 2005, has run a series of workshops and mentorship programmes in the capital. The forthcoming forum will feature a panel of experts, including a university lecturer, a local entrepreneur, and a mental‑health specialist. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in breakout sessions, where they can brainstorm solutions and propose projects that could be implemented in partnership with local schools and businesses.
Speaking at the launch, organisation chair, Ms. Karen Davies, said the forum would "create a space for young voices to be heard and to shape the future of Bermuda". The event is free, but registrants are asked to sign up online to help the organisers manage capacity.
Progressive Minds hopes the forum will spark a wider conversation about youth empowerment, and may serve as a model for similar gatherings across the island.
