Bermudian students planning to study abroad are being reminded that the application window for the HuRen Course Aid is closing soon. The deadline, set for 30 September 2026, offers a chance to receive financial assistance for tuition and related course costs at partner institutions worldwide.
The Department of Education in Hamilton has highlighted the importance of the program for local learners, noting that the aid can help bridge the gap between domestic and international study opportunities. According to the department, applicants must submit a completed application form, an academic transcript, and a statement of purpose by the deadline.
In a recent briefing, the department’s Education Officer, Ms. Lorna Simmons, emphasized that the aid is available to students from all public schools in Bermuda who meet the eligibility criteria. She encouraged parents and students to review the application guidelines on the official HuRen website and to seek assistance from school counselors if needed.
The program, established to support Bermudian talent in global academic pursuits, has previously helped over 200 students gain admission to universities in the United States and Canada. Local educators believe that timely application will increase the likelihood of securing the funding needed to pursue advanced degrees abroad.
Students interested in applying should contact their school’s guidance office or visit the Department of Education’s website for detailed instructions and updated deadlines.
