Four men are in police custody following an operation that began with a routine traffic stop in Flatts and ended with the seizure of suspected illegal drugs at a residence in Pembroke.

Police confirmed that officers on mobile patrol stopped a motorcar travelling east through the Flatts area at around 1:25 p.m. on Saturday. The circumstances of the stop prompted further investigation, which ultimately led officers to a property in Pembroke, where additional arrests were made and a quantity of suspected controlled drugs was recovered.

A police spokesperson said the four men were arrested in connection with the matter and remain in custody while enquiries continue. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those detained or specified the type or quantity of the suspected drugs seized, noting that the investigation is still in its early stages.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the traffic stop or who have information relevant to the investigation to come forward.
