A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision on the stretch of Bermuda Road just outside the Windmill community, according to local police. The fatal accident occurred on Friday evening around 8:45 p.m. when a rider traveling southbound on Route 10 was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound at the intersection with the main roadway. Emergency services arrived within minutes, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bermuda Police announced an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. Police Chief Adrian Thomas stated the incident is being treated as a serious traffic fatality and that officers are reviewing traffic camera footage and interviewing witnesses. The department noted that the weather conditions that evening were clear, but road surfaces were wet from overnight drizzle.

The accident has reignited discussions in Hamilton over road safety on Bermuda Road, a corridor that has seen a number of serious incidents in recent years. Local traffic safety advocates are urging the government to consider additional speed‑limit signage, improved lighting, and a dedicated motorcycle safety program.

Families and friends of the deceased will be given the opportunity to attend a memorial service at St. John’s Parish Church on Saturday. The Bermuda Observer will continue to provide updates as the investigation proceeds.
