Motorists travelling along Crow Lane faced heightened scrutiny this week as a joint enforcement operation by the Bermuda Police Service and the Transport Control Department resulted in 63 traffic tickets being issued in just over an hour.
The coordinated effort saw officers from both agencies stationed along the busy Hamilton thoroughfare, targeting a range of traffic offences. Among the tickets handed out were 10 for speeding, with the fastest vehicle clocked travelling at 71 km/h — well above the island's speed limits.
A police spokesperson confirmed the figures, noting that the combined BPS and TCD team issued the tickets during the operation, which forms part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety across Bermuda. Crow Lane, a heavily travelled route connecting the city to the east, has long been a focus for traffic enforcement due to congestion and driver behaviour.
Authorities have repeatedly urged motorists to observe posted speed limits and traffic regulations, warning that similar joint operations will continue across the island. The initiative reflects a broader push by law enforcement and transport officials to reduce collisions and promote safer driving habits on Bermuda's roads.
Residents are reminded that traffic enforcement exercises can take place at any time and in any location, and drivers are encouraged to remain vigilant and compliant with the rules of the road.
