MacFarlane and Betschart, a dynamic coaching partnership with a decade of experience in Bermudian sports, have joined forces to lead the Ocean View Athletics Club into a new era of competition.

The duo, who previously guided the St. George’s youth squad to two consecutive league titles, will assume the role of head coach and technical director, respectively. "We’re excited to bring fresh tactics and a renewed focus on player development to Ocean View," said MacFarlane. Betschart added, "Our goal is to nurture local talent and build a team that can consistently challenge the island’s top clubs."]

The pair plan to implement a structured training regimen, increase community outreach through school clinics, and secure additional sponsorships to upgrade facilities. They have already scheduled a series of exhibition matches against regional opponents to gauge the squad’s readiness.

Community members are optimistic. “Ocean View has always been a cornerstone of our neighbourhood, and having MacFarlane and Betschart on board gives us confidence that we’ll see a stronger, more competitive team,” said resident and former player, Jordan Whitfield.

The new leadership begins preparations for the upcoming summer season, with a series of friendly fixtures slated for early July. If successful, the club could position itself as a contender for the island’s premier division title.
