Neki Taylor, a long‑time resident of Hamilton’s St. George’s Parish, died peacefully on Tuesday, 12 March 2026 at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband, two adult daughters, four grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her warm smile and generous spirit.
Taylor spent three decades as a registered nurse at Bermuda Hospital, specialising in geriatric care. Her dedication to the elderly earned her the island’s Nursing Excellence Award in 2008, and she mentored many young nurses in the community. After retiring in 2015, she focused on volunteer work, serving as chair of the St. George’s Parish Community Association and organising health‑awareness workshops for seniors.
Her neighbours recall Taylor’s love of the sea, noting that she would often be seen walking along the harbour on weekends, chatting with fishermen and locals alike. She was a founding member of the Bermuda Women’s Choir, performing at fundraising concerts that benefited the Bermuda Cancer Society and the Bermudian Children’s Fund.
The family will hold a memorial service at St. George’s Parish Church on 26 March, followed by a reception at the Hamilton Community Centre. A donation in Taylor’s name may be made to the Bermudian Health Foundation, which she supported throughout her life.
Her passing is a profound loss for Hamilton and the wider Bermudian community, but her legacy of compassion, leadership and community spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
