Bermuda will join nations around the world in observing World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2026, with the Ministry of Health highlighting this year's international theme, "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change."
The theme centres on the idea that individuals who have personally faced mental health challenges possess valuable insight and should play a meaningful role in shaping services, policies and community support. A Government spokesperson said the observance is an opportunity to elevate those voices and ensure they inform how care is designed and delivered on the island.
The Ministry of Health is encouraging residents to take part in the day by learning more about mental wellness, checking in on friends, family and colleagues, and challenging the stigma that can prevent people from seeking help. Officials noted that open conversations about mental health remain an important part of building a healthier and more supportive community.
World Mental Health Day is marked annually on October 10 and is recognised in more than 100 countries. The Ministry said further details about local activities and resources tied to the observance will be shared with the public, and reminded residents that confidential support services are available year-round for anyone experiencing mental health difficulties.
