The Bermuda Power Boat Association (BPBA) wrapped up its 2023 racing season on Saturday at the Spanish Point Boat Club, drawing a lively crowd of participants and spectators from across the island. Four competitive classes—V8, V6, 6-Seat, and 4-Seat—saw crews battle for the top spot, with the event featuring the usual mix of speed, skill, and community spirit that characterises Bermuda’s motor‑boat racing culture.

After the final race, the BPBA committee, along with drivers and co‑pilots, presented a cheque to St John Ambulance, the island’s primary emergency medical service. The donation reflects the association’s longstanding support for local charities and underscores the close ties between sport and community welfare in Bermuda.

Spanish Point’s harbour, a favourite gathering place for boaters, provided a picturesque backdrop for the day’s events. Families and friends filled the club’s viewing areas, while the club’s historic boathouse added a touch of local heritage to the festivities.

BPBA officials said the season’s racing schedule will resume next year, with hopes of attracting even more participants. For now, the community can enjoy the celebratory atmosphere and the knowledge that the sport’s success has helped give back to a vital island service.
