A serious vehicle collision on Bermuda Road in Hamilton on Tuesday morning blocked all lanes and forced motorists to navigate detours along Church and St. George’s Streets. According to the Bermuda Police Service, the crash involved two cars and a delivery lorry that collided near the intersection with Windmill Lane. The incident caused a temporary jam that lasted approximately 45 minutes while emergency crews cleared the wreckage and conducted a brief investigation.

Police officers on scene reported that the vehicles were later towed and the area was secured for safety. A traffic management team from the Department of Public Works set up temporary lane closures and provided alternate routes to relieve congestion. Commuters and tourists were advised to use the back streets of the city until traffic returned to normal.

"We are working to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible," said Sergeant Tom Bennett of the Police Service. "The road is now open and motorists are advised to keep an eye on the detour signs and follow the updated routes.

The incident has highlighted the need for continued vigilance and careful driving on Bermuda’s narrow, heavily trafficked roads. The Bermuda Road remains a key artery for residents and visitors alike, and authorities will review the situation in the coming days to ensure such disruptions are minimized in the future.
