The Bermuda Department of Marine & Ports Services has issued its latest marine traffic timetable, detailing the expected arrivals for the week beginning Saturday, October 17. Local port officials say the schedule will aid in planning for berth allocation, customs clearance and support services.
Saturday’s arrival will be the Cartagena, a bulk carrier bringing a shipment of gravel from the Caribbean. The vessel is expected to dock by late afternoon, providing a critical supply of aggregate material for ongoing public works projects on the island.
Sunday will see the crew ship Fugro Discovery coming into port. The vessel will be serviced by the Bermuda crew support centre, with its crew expected to disembark for a short interval before returning to their home base.
Monday’s schedule is the busiest, with two major arrivals. The container ship Oleander will deliver a variety of goods, including electronics and consumer products, to the Bermuda Container Terminal. The same day, the cruise ship Vision of the Seas will welcome a large group of passengers, boosting the local tourism sector and creating a temporary spike in demand for hospitality services.
Port managers have confirmed that all inbound vessels will be accommodated in line with Bermuda’s maritime safety regulations. The Department encourages businesses and service providers to review the timetable and coordinate accordingly to ensure smooth operations throughout the week.
