During the weekend of 12–14 May, the Hamilton community centre hosted the inaugural Taste Of Bermuda Tabletop Theatre, a unique event that blended local culinary delights with intimate theatrical performances. Organized by the Hamilton Arts Collective and the Island Food Trust, the three‑day festival invited residents and visitors to sample freshly prepared Bermudian dishes while watching short plays staged on a custom‑built tabletop set.

The programme showcased six local playwrights and six chefs, each pair collaborating to create scenes that reflected Bermuda’s heritage and contemporary life. Attendees were encouraged to dine at small tables that doubled as stages, allowing them to observe actors moving through the narrative while savoring dishes such as oxtail soup, fish chowder, and the signature Gombey cake.

"This format breaks the barrier between audience and performer,” said Arts Collective Director, Marjorie Johnson, during the opening night. The event was praised for its community‑spirit, with 350 people attending across the three days. Local business owner, Chef Laila Abrahams, highlighted the opportunity for emerging chefs to gain exposure.

The festival closed with a community potluck and a live music set by the Bermuda String Quartet. Organisers plan to expand the event next year, potentially touring it to other islands in the region.
