Members of the Bermuda Police Service set aside their regular duties this week to take part in the annual Police Sports Day, a highlight of Police Week 2026 celebrations on the island.

The event brought officers together for a full day of sporting activities and friendly competition, offering colleagues a chance to build camaraderie away from the demands of frontline policing. The gathering forms part of a wider programme of Police Week activities recognising the work of the service and strengthening ties within Bermuda's law enforcement community.

This year's Sports Day also drew participation from partner agencies, with representatives of the Royal Bermuda Regiment, HM Customs and the Department of Corrections joining police officers on the field. The inclusion of the uniformed services added an extra layer of friendly rivalry, as teams competed across a range of events throughout the day.

Police Week is observed annually in Bermuda and typically features a mix of community outreach, ceremonial occasions and internal events designed to honour serving officers and remember those who have died in the line of duty. Organisers said the Sports Day remains one of the most popular fixtures on the calendar, giving personnel from across the services an opportunity to relax, compete and connect in an informal setting.
